MASTERFUL DARK THRILLER MISTER WHITE BY JOHN C. FOSTER TAKES READERS ON A BREAKNECK SUPERNATURAL ADVENTURE OF GLOBAL PROPORTIONS
Grey Matter Press to Release MISTER WHITE in the Spring of 2016, Reveals Cover and Unveils MISTER WHITE Website at DoNotSpeakHisName.com
In the shadowy world of international espionage and governmental black ops when a group of American spies go bad and inadvertently unleash an ancient malevolent force that feeds on the fears of mankind, a young family finds themselves in the crosshairs of a frantic supernatural mystery of global proportions with only one man to turn for their salvation in the new dark thriller from author John C. Foster, MISTER WHITE.
Combine the intricate, plot-driven stylings of suspense masters Tom Clancy and Robert Ludlum, add a healthy dose of Clive Barker’s dark and brooding occult horror themes, and you have an idea where the latest genre-busting dark thriller MISTER WHITE will be taking readers when it is released by Grey Matter Press this spring. In preparation for the upcoming release, the publisher has revealed the sinister cover artwork and issued a rather ominous warning, urging readers that whatever they might do, “Do not speak his name.” Learn why evoking the name of Mister White is a bad plan at www.DoNotSpeakHisName.com..
“My fascination with horror and espionage produced the evil lovechild MISTER WHITE,” said Foster. “The goal from the beginning was to blend the exotic excitement of a classic Cold War spy thriller with the mounting sense of dread lurking in the dark heart of the horror genre.”
Beginning with an unnerving query posed by a mysterious voice from the other end of a static-laced telephone line, Foster’s second novel MISTER WHITE rockets to breakneck speed when a corrupt spy working for a secretive U.S. agency becomes entangled with a supernatural terror that pursues him across three continents in a breathless, high-stakes thriller and white-knuckled shocker that once and for all answers the question: “Who is Mister White?”
“MISTER WHITE is like Stephen King’s The Stand meets Ian Fleming’s James Bond with Graham Masterton’s The Manitou thrown in for good measure,” said Bram Stoker Award-nominated horror author of The End in All Beginnings, John F.D. Taff. “MISTER WHITE is frenetically paced, spectacularly gory and eerie as hell.”
Blurring the lines between traditional spy thriller and modern horror, MISTER WHITE is based on the short story of the same name written by Foster and published in the Grey Matter Press anthology DARK VISIONS: A COLLECTION OF MODERN HORROR – VOLUME TWO. The novelized version expands on the brutal events of that story. In the much-anticipated full-length novel, Foster unveils an all-new villain for the modern age whose tendrils of corruption reach deep into a dark and frightening past.
“MISTER WHITE is unlike any novel I’ve ever read,” said Anthony Rivera, editor of the volume and publisher at Grey Matter Press. “John has crafted an incredible tale with rapid-fire action that completely demolishes the boundaries of standard genre categorizations.”
Exhibiting a writing style that has been called a blend of Robert McCammon and Raymond Chandler, MISTER WHITE highlights Foster’s innate ability to seamlessly mesh elements of horror, noir, occult and suspense thrillers into rich, character-driven and terrifying fiction. MISTER WHITE will be Foster’s second novel, and it will be the first full-length novel published by Grey Matter Press.
“When Grey Matter Press published the short story that is the basis for this novel, I knew from the word ‘go’ that I wanted a future with this publisher,” said Foster. “I’m honored that they chose MISTER WHITE as their entre into publishing novels.”
MISTER WHITE will be available worldwide in trade paperback and in common digital formats upon its release in April 2016. Pre-orders for the novel will begin in March at the Grey Matter Press Bookstore at www.ShopGreyMatterPress.com.
