BEVERLY HILLS LIZARD PEOPLE sets director Lisa Ovies
Cthulhu Crush Productions have announced that filmmaker Lisa Ovies will direct horror-comedy Beverly Hills Lizard People.
Written by Cthulu Crush’s Jody Wheeler, Beverly Hills Lizard People is described as a mix of Slither and Scream, and tells of an ancient race of shape-shifting Lizard People from the depths of the Earth who return to the surface to reclaim what was once theirs: Beverly Hills.
An estimated 12.5 million Americans believe in the existence of Lizard People.
Disturbed from their ancient slumber by the excavation of a cross-town subway, the ancient reptilian masters of a faded empire strike out to reclaim what was once theirs: Beverly Hills.
Ground zero for their invasion? A once popular, though now faded, hotel, currently the site of a reality TV cooking show competition, and directly overhead of their secret city. Can the collection of unlikely contestants — ambitious, backstabbing, and determined — stop the shape-shifting Terrors From Below below before the reptilian ravagers achieve their goal of conquering first Beverly Hills and then the world?
the spiritualist is coming to your home
To free this house from spirits and ghosts, let the spiritualist be your host...
Laura, suffering horrific night terrors and sleep paralysis, believes the sinister spirit haunting her is the ghost of her mother. Scared and desperate, she reaches out to the spiritualist to host a seance with her friends. Everyone is terrorized as the entity makes them all confront their worst fears.

OCCULT DETECTIVE QUARTERLY PRESENTS A SUBSTANTIAL ANTHOLOGY OF NEW OCCULT DETECTIVE MYSTERIES WITH REAL BITE
Occult Detective may be a relatively new addition to the genre, but in its short run so far it has already cemented its reputation as being a quality publication. After finding their feet so to speak they have just announced a Kickstarter to help fund their latest venture, an anthology of mystery, magic and malice novelettes and novellas, this looks set to be a must read publication. Now you know me I have never shied away from stating my dislike of a lot of kickstarters, so when I put my reputation on the line and support one, I think you can be assured that it will be more than worth your time and money to support it.
I'll let ODQ's driving force John Linwood Grant take it from here to explain more about the anthology...
A substantial anthology of new occult detective mysteries with real bite. Some stories need space to breathe and develop – and sometimes there’s no easy solution to be wrapped up in a dozen pages. Not content with being limited to our usual magazine length fiction, this time we’re offering readers and writers a chance to really get their teeth into something.
For Occult Detective Quarterly Presents, we’ve carefully selected seven new stories of novelette to novella length from some terrific authors. We’ll be giving out more details as this campaign unfolds, but we can say that ODQ Presents features a wild Nick Nightmare novella by veteran, award-winning author Adrian Cole, exclusive to this anthology and full of mad adventure and the occult, risks and betrayals.
Don’t be fooled, though – we haven’t just played safe with established characters. We’ve gone for a great mix of characters and settings from six other contemporary horror, pulp, Gothic and supernatural authors, each with her or his own distinctive style. As an example, we also have Amanda DeWees, another award-winning author who specialises in Gothic mysteries! Whilst you’ll find some sort of occult detective in each of these stories, they may not always be what you expected.
The anthology will be over 250 pages of mystery, magic and malice, with settings that range from urban Scotland to early Judea, calling in at an English country house and smog-bound Los Angeles along the way. Gritty private eyes, stylish psychic sleuths and a rabbi’s assistant await you, in what we hope will be the first of a series of anthologies which will give our occult detectives the space to succeed – or die.
This is your chance to show there’s an appetite for longer fiction, and to get in from the start. The campaign offers some great deals, including both ODQ Presents and issues of ODQ magazine at special prices. If you like what you see, then those further anthologies will be one step nearer to reality, and we’ll be able to plan Open Calls so that more writers can deliver the goods.
