Ginger Nuts of Horror
FLICKERAMA is a brand new outdoor British summer festival with a difference: it’s all about FILM. Flickerama – which takes place in the beautiful grounds of Great Tew in Oxfordshire, England over three glorious days in August (14th-16th) - is the brainchild of Tom Lawes film director and owner of The Electric in Birmingham, Britain’s oldest working cinema and one of the country’s leading independent cinemas.
Tom will be launching FLICKERAMA at this year’s Cannes Film Festival with an event on May 20th at the UK Film Centre:
“Having worked in the film industry for over twenty years, I have seen a real growing trend for outdoor event cinema,” says Tom Lawes. “And these often seem to be one-off events around a single film. Flickerama takes this idea to the next level, by creating a film festival that's an actual festival – screening a three day programme of fantastic films with the added attractions of themed events, workshops and lots of delicious eating and drinking facilities on site. Plus plenty of room for camping and lazing around while taking in the views! Flickerama will be an event for film lovers where everything is in one place, in a beautiful environment.”
Flickerama is destined to set new standards for summer fun and entertainment for everyone; an entertaining mix of brand new films, interactive film events, live music, workshops, film memorabilia, and much more. Alongside the MAIN STAGE, with its huge, specially designed outdoor screen, there are indoor seated marquees with different film themes such as the SHOCK AND GORE horror tent and the glamorous BOUTIQUE SCREEN complete with full cocktail bar.

Shades, pork pie hats and attitude are likely to be in evidence...
The LABYRINTH MASQUERADE BALL will follow an evening screening of LABYRINTH. Guests will be invited to dress up in their most glamorous, their most fanciful costume where the dandiest, most dazzling will win a prize. Themed cocktails and food will be served...
